The Government Relations division works to enhance a pro business philosophy in partnership with government and business to promote job growth and economic opportunity for the Lansing region.
2010 Goals
The statewide election in 2010 is one of the most pivotal in years. Races for Governor, State Legislature and Congress will be before voters. LRC PA C intends to be actively involved in evaluating, endorsing and supporting candidates in key races in order to ensure that the influence of the business community is an important factor in determining who represents the region in Lansing and Washington D.C.
LRCC will again host the 2010 Chambers of Commerce Legislative Dinner, which is scheduled for March 24 at the Radisson Hotel. The Chamber also plans on hosting another Mid-Michigan Delegation Breakfast at a date to be announced later in the year.
The Chamber plans to expand the role of its Public Policy Advocacy Committee (PPAC), which was formed last year to analyze and develop policy positions on issues affecting the Lansing business community and the mid-Michigan region.
