There is still time to submit nominations for the Lansing Regional Chamber’s Community Service and Outstanding Small Business Awards. Completed nominations must be received by 5:00 pm on Friday, January 13. Both awards will be presented as part of the Chamber’s 100th Annual Dinner program on Wednesday, February 22.
The nominees for the Community Service Award will be evaluated using the following criteria:
• An outstanding individual who has given of their time and expertise in
making the Lansing region a better community;
• Selected for accomplishments above, beyond and outside their own field
of endeavor;
• Person selected must demonstrate excellence, creativity and initiative in
their business and profession throughout their entire career, and be of
sound moral character; and
• Additional consideration will be given to nominees who are Chamber
members.
The recipient of the Outstanding Small Business Award is a local small business
that has demonstrated stability, innovation, commitment to community, ability
to overcome challenges and commitment to diversity. Award qualifiers:
• Must have 2-64 full-time equivalent employees (including all independent
contractors);
• Business is physically located in the tri-county region;
• Minimum of three years conducting business as both a legal and active
owner;
• During those three years, the business must have been “local” for the
entire period; and
• During those three years, the business must have remained in the same
general industry.
